Arland Steen, Pastor and Founder of Living Well Church, is a native South Carolinian but has lived in California for over 35 years.
Arland is the son of Merlin Steen, who was a respected Assemblies of God minister and pastored churches in Iowa and South Carolina. Merlin was Arland’s first spiritual mentor. He was a solid example to his son in character, integrity and compassion. Arland accepted Christ at an early age and, in addition to usual childhood interests, spent many hours praying and reading his Dad’s theology and missionary books. He read the entire Bible through 3 times before he was 12 years old. He began speaking in churches when he was 19.
Arland always seemed to sense the call of God on his life and in response, attended Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with an emphasis on pastoral ministry. Kenneth E. Hagin became his second spiritual mentor and imparted to Arland an understanding of the authority of the Word of God, how to be led by the Holy Spirit and how to walk in love. He also ordained Arland into full-time ministry.
Pastor Arland founded his first church in 1981, and after a few years, became acquainted with a man who would come to be his third spiritual mentor. Jack Hayford was a renowned pastor and for over 40 years led The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, California. Pastor Jack’s School of Pastoral Nurture provided the interactive setting for this mentorship to occur. Pastor Jack was an example of a man with a shepherd’s heart who knew how to lead a congregation with a balance of grace and authority.
God has graced and gifted Arland in such a way that he is:
- A pastor whose primary goal is to help people become what they were created to be, believing that building big people will build the Church
- A teaching pastor who presents the Word of God in a clear, concise way that can be easily applied to everyday life, believing this is the foundation for spiritual growth
- A pastor who is passionate about discipleship, teaching people to have confidence in their personal walk with God, thus allowing that walk to be “interactive”
The love of his life is his wife, Barbara. He describes her as “a woman like no other.” They have much in common and together, they fit like a hand in a glove with complimentary personalities. She keeps him smiling and laughing as she is the joy of his life. Together, they are an example of what it looks like to ‘Have fun building the Kingdom’.
Hi pastor arland can you email me thank you
Good afternoon Pastor Arland,
I wanted to reach out and introduce myself to you as my wife and I are wanting to make connections with local pastors in your area and support you, pray for you, and come along side your vision and serve you in any way possible. My name is Mike Mills, I am a Pastor, author of three life change books, conference speaker, and church builder. My wife Heather and I have been in pastoral ministry for fifteen plus years, mostly in Delaware. We founded, and led Freedom Worship Center & FWC Academy in Milford DE for over ten years. In 2018, we moved to NY to join our church and our staff with Northway Church in Clifton Park, where we were the Global Pastors of all of the NC campuses. This past September my wife and I stepped out in a leap of faith, resigning from our pastoral roles at NC to pursue what God has called us to share. Over this time God has lit a fire inside of me to go back outside of the same four walls, and preach the gospel of Grace and Truth to a troubled world. Grace without truth is not grace, and truth without grace is not truth. This is why God has called me back out into the mission field.
Over the past fifteen years in ministry God has used me extensively, giving me the honor to serve many churches throughout the US as a conference speaker for men’s conferences, leadership conferences, marriage conferences, and youth conferences. It has been a true blessing to build relationships with churches as small as fifty folks, to speaking at the Prudential Center in NYC to 10,000 and the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia to 15,000. My passion is to connect with local churches, bring a word of encouragement, enlightenment in biblical truth, and ultimately a challenge to get out and win people to Jesus! It would be an honor to have a chance to connect with you and talk more of any way I could serve you and your congregation through a conference or even a Sunday morning. I have added a link to one of my recent talks, along with a couple of references who can attest to my ministry. You can also watch more of my messages on faithchannel.com under Freedom Worship Center, and check out my website theedge101.com. Feel free to call me directly at 302-841-7929 so we can talk more. Thanks for your time!

Hi Monica! We want to encourage you that God is with you every step of your journey down here on earth, whether you are attending church or not. He loves you and has a plan for your life. Our church motto is “All things can become new.” The motto reflects that many of us have gone through personal issues that made life seem old and stale and even saps our sense of hope. But many of us have also seen hope renewed and the zest of life again. We have been praying for you. We hope to see you soon!
Hi Monica. So glad you found us. I thank God every day for coming across the website of LWC as it led me to finding my home church. You won’t meet a more loving and welcoming group of people. I hope to meet you soon! ChaRee
I’m not sure if it was you or a volunteer from your congregation that stopped by yesterday to deliver the food items to Manna. I am sorry I missed you!
We look forward to partnering with you and being the beneficiary of your food collections. I have made a page for you in the Church Partners (green book) for the coming year. Our most requested items are on our website http://www.mannaconejo.org. You’ll find them on our home page toward the bottom. I often print these items in my church bulletins and you might want to do the same. The list does change periodically so do check back often. Please let me know if I can provide you any further information. Another very successful program that my church as participated in is the Souper Bowl of Caring. You might want to check it out… https://souperbowl.org/welcome.
Thank you again for your partnership with Manna!
Merry Christmas!
